چکیده

The commercialization of proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) could provide a cleaner energy society in the near future. However, sluggish reaction kinetics and harsh conditions oxygen reduction affect durability cost PEMFCs. Most previous reports on Pt-based electrocatalyst designs have focused more improving their activity; however, with PEMFCs, has received increasing attention. In-depth insight into structural evolution electrocatalysts throughout lifecycle can contribute to further optimization activity durability. development situ electron microscopy other techniques promoted elucidation mechanism. This mini review highlights recent advances electrocatalysts. mechanisms are adequately discussed, some methods inhibit or exploit catalysts also briefly reviewed.

Development of ruthenium-based bimetallic electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction reaction

Ruthenium-based bimetallic electrocatalysts with non-noble metals such as Ti, Cr, Fe, Co and Pb were synthesized on a porous carbon support sing a chelation process. Rotating ring disk electrode measurements indicated that RuFeNx/C showed the catalytic activity and selectivity toward he four-electron reduction of oxygen to water comparable to those of the conventional Pt/C catalysts. The perfor...
